4 Delightful Short Zen Stories About Women & Love!

Reading stories is my all time favorite hobbies. I read a lot of short stories and I am sharing a few best Zen stories I have been reading recently.

1. Carrying A Woman!

Tanzan and Ekido were once travelling together down a muddy road. A heavy rain was still falling.

Coming around a bend, they met a lovely girl in a silk kimono and sash, unable to cross the intersection.

"Come on, girl," said Tanzan at once. Lifting her in his arms, he carried her over the mud.

Ekido did not speak again until that night when they reached a lodging temple. Then he no longer could restrain himself.

"We monks don't do near females," he told Tanzan, "especially not young and lovely
ones. It is dangerous. Why did you do that?"

"I left the girl there," said Tanzan. "Are you still carrying her?"

2. If You Love, Love Openly

Twenty monks and one nun, who was named Eshun, were practicing meditation with a certain Zen master.

Eshun was very pretty even though her head was shaved and her dress plain. Several monks secretly fell in love with her. One of them wrote her a love letter, insisting upon a private meeting.

Eshun did not reply. The following day the master gave a lecture to the group, and when it was over, Eshun arose. Addressing the one who had written her, she said: "If you really love me so much, come and embrace me now."

3. Too Much Love

An aged monk, who had lived a long and active life, was assigned a chaplain's role at an academy for girls. In discussion groups he often found that the subject of love became a central topic.

This comprised his warning to the young women: "Understand the danger of anything-too-much in your lives. Too much anger in combat can lead to recklessness and death. Too much ador in religious beliefs can lead to close mindedness and persecution. Too much passion in love creates dream images of the beloved - images that ultimately prove false and generate anger. To love too much is to lick honey from the point of a knife."

"But as a celebate monk," asked one young woman, "how can you know of love between a man and a woman?"

"Sometime, dear children," replied the old teacher, "I will tell you why I became a monk."

4.  Change!

A Chinese emperor known for his foul temper entered the bedroom of his soon-to-be-bride, who was one of the most beautiful women in all of China. She was being made to marry him against her will, as her parents were forcing her into it.

Little did the emperor know however that she had also been taught by wise sages as a child. She sat expressionless, staring at the wall. "Hello, pretty," he said to her, but she didn't respond.
"I said hello to you, and you will respond when I address you, do you understand me??" he snarled. But still, she didn't reply.

Most people would have answered him by now, so despite himself he grew curious, and gruffly asked, "What is it you are thinking?"

Finally she answered him. "Two things. One, that I do not wish to marry you because you are so callous and mean-spirited. And the other thing, is that I was wondering if you have it within your power to have a certain something changed."

"What?!" the emperor exclaimed with outrage. "You bitch! How dare you question my authority! ... But ... I admit I'm curious. Since I have it within my power to snap my fingers and whatever I command within my kingdom will be obeyed, what is it you are wondering if I could change?"

"Your attitude," she replied. And with that she got up and walked out of the room, leaving him in stunned silence.

2048 Game - TIps To Make a 2048 Tile Easily & Quickly!

2048 Game:

So, You got addicted to 2048 and wondering how to make 2048 tile? As long as you don't know the strategy its a nightmare. Once you know that, its pretty easy and I bet you can make 2048 tile every time you play a game. Sounds good? Lets get started.

Warning: This is How I play the game and I can make 2048 tile  every time I play this.

Strategy: Goal & The Path

Now, lets look at the game a bit differently. Its very tedious( and time consuming ) to look at all 16 tiles for each and every move we make while playing the game. Actually we don't have to. Take a look at the pictures below.

The Goal - The tile where 2048 will be formed.

The Path - A few tiles which we will use to make goal.

Now don't worry much about the remaining tiles.

How To Make 2048 Tile?

1. Start the game.

2. Move the first tile to the goal position and keep adding remaining tiles to this.

3. Do not move the goal tile unless you have no other choice.

4. DO NOT MOVE THE GOAL TILE UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE.

5. Move the next tiles to path in DECREASING ORDER ONLY.

6. Make sure the goal is always the biggest tile and tiles in the path must be in decreasing order.
    Example: {Goal:16, Path: 8,4,2} or {Goal 1024; Path:512,256,256 as show in the pic}

7. Go on adding the tiles in the path to the goal.

That's it.

If you follow the above rules and play the game a few times You will make 2048 tile easily. Good luck.

Tips:

1. Instead of pushing tiles around stick to 2 swipes only.
While I play the game, I swipe from top to bottom and right to left only. If these two are not possible then I swipe from top to bottom or left to right depending up on the tiles.

2. Always keep the high valued tile in bottom left and keep adding the remaining tiles in descending order from bottom to top as shown in the figure.

How To Find All Subsidiaries Of A Company?

Understanding Subsidiaries:

A subsidiary is a company that is completely or partly owned by another corporation that owns more than half of the subsidiary's stock.

A first-tier subsidiary means a subsidiary/daughter company of the ultimate parent company, while a second-tier subsidiary is a subsidiary of a first-tier subsidiary: a "granddaughter" of the main parent company.

Ford motor company with its tiered subsidiaries is shown below.

  • Ford Motor Company – Parent company
    • Ford International Capital LLC – First-tier subsidiary
      • Blue Oval Holdings – Second-tier subsidiary
        • Ford Motor Company Limited – Third-tier subsidiary
          • Ford Component Sales Limited – Fourth-tier subsidiary

Finding Subsidiaries:

1. Corporate Sites:

The best source to find subsidiaries of a company is its corporate sites itself. Press Releases provide information about recent acquisitions and other information. A lot of companies provide a lot of information about its subsidiaries in their annual Reports

2. SEC.gov

All companies, foreign and domestic, are required to file registration statements, periodic reports, and other forms electronically through EDGAR. Anyone can access and download this information for free. Here, subsidiaries list is available for most public companies.
Example: List of subsidiaries of General Electric at SEC.gov

3. Open Corporates

Opencorporates have information about 60+ million companies. You can search the database and find the parent company. There you can a huge list of subsidiaries for it.

4. Wikipedia

Wikipedia is also most valuable source to find acquisitions and assets of companies. There are a lot of articles covering acquisitions of various companies. In addition to that there a few lists which contain subsidiaries of a company.
Example: List of assets owned by Berkshire Hathaway, List of mergers and acquisitions by IBM

Wipro Campus Placement - My Interview!

It happened few months back in our Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering!

First our placement officer R.V.S sent a notice about the campus placement! He arranged a session to get us prepared for campus placement. Students who have less than 2 backlogs were allowed to placement.

On the day, a few officials from Wipro came to our college. We all attended pre-placement talk in our formal dress. After the talk, they separated the students into two batches.

The first batch were the toppers who have more than 80% academic score. They don't have to take the written test and have to attend the interview directly.

I had around 78% score. So, I have to take the written test. Written test consisted of Aptitude questions and English vocabulary, passage writing. I was qualified in written test!

Interview:

First round:

I entered into the cell greeted the interviewer. He asked me to sit down. He spoke politely and asked a few questions casually to make me comfortable.

Second round:

In this round, the interviewer asked me about the Android app I have developed. I told that it was very basic app and told him how I developed it. He spoke a lot about Andoid apps and asked me to participate in App contest help by Wipro.

That's it. My interview was completed. Later I went out for a walk!

On return one of my friend told me that I got selected!
